Have you ever wondered, why twins are so different? Thanks to our next guest speaker, Prof. Dr. med. Gerd Kempermann, you will get the chance to shed light upon the neurobiology of individuality.
Prof. Gerd Kempermann is the Group Leader and Site Speaker at the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and Professor of Genomics of Regeneration at the Technical University Dresden, Germany. His main research interest lies in the role, which the neural stem cells in the adult brain play in learning, thinking and also in the pathological processes such as dementia or depression. Throughout his career, he has received several awards for his contributions to neurosciences, such as the 2008 GlaxoSmithKline FENS Neural Stem Cell Award or the 2011 BMA, Medical Book of the Year Award.
The lecture titled “Why are twins so different? – The neurobiology of individuality” will take place on March 20, 2019 at 6 PM in Syllaba’s lecture hall. After the lecture, we would like to invite you to an informal gathering with Prof. Kempermann at our café Malý Eden!
