On April 5th in Aula Magna at the historical building of Karolinum, we gathered to celebrate the 675th anniversary of the founding of Charles University. Highlight of the even was the announcement of the winners of the Miloslav Petruska´s Representation Award and the Bedrich Hroznys´ Creative Award. We are proud to have representatives of our faculty among the final awardees.
The Miloslav Petruska´s Award was presented to the team consisting of our university´s colleagues from the Third Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Arts (Philosophy) and the Karolinum publishing house, for their work on the bilingual Czech-Ukrainian instructional book “Léčíme česky - Čeština pro sestry a jiné zdravotníky“. Namely - Mgr. Iveta Čermáková, PhDr. Marie Zvoníčková, Mgr. Tereza Bakusová, Prof. PhDr. Petr Čermák, Ph.D., Bc. Daria Stytsenko, Bc. Roksolana Fedorenko, Mgr. Petr Valo a Mgr. Eva Flanderková, PhD.
The book was designed for the non-medical health workers, especially nurses, caretakers and orderlies. The main aim of the project was to help Ukrainian nurses efficiently adapt and join us at work in the Czech hospitals. To be highlighted is the winning team´s good will as they offered to donate part of the winnings to the Člověk v tísni charity, which will use the funds to further support Ukraine.
The Bedrich Hrozny´s Award for excellent scientific work, in accordance to the highest international standards of authenticity, quality and the contribution to medical practice, was presented to Assoc. Prof. Ing. Karol Čurila, M.D., Ph.D. from the Department of Cardiology 3FM CU and UHKV for hisresearchand patenting of the Ultra-high-frequency EKG technology.
