Dear students, dear colleagues,

this Vademecum, a guide to doctoral studies, was created to help you find your way around postgraduate studies at the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. It is designed to help prospective applicants decide on a scientific career even before submitting their application, and to guide them safely through every step needed to successfully begin their studies. Above all, however, it is intended for our current PhD students. Its aim is to give you a detailed overview of all the opportunities our faculty's academic environment offers, while also clearly defining the requirements placed on you.

The guide provides a clear summary of your rights and obligations, as well as the benefits and awards you can earn through an active and successful approach to your studies.

Alongside information on study obligations, you will also find valuable tips for funding your research, key contacts, and, not least, practical details about facilities, dining, and accommodation.
