Immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy, two powerful techniques to investigate neurodegenerative mechanisms

Dr. Daniele Lana

On 21 November 2023 at 16:30, Dr. Daniele Lana from the University of Florence, Italy, will give a lecture on "Immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy, two powerful techniques to investigate neurodegenerative mechanisms" in the Burian Auditorium (Department of Anatomy, Third Faculty of Medicine Charles University in Prague). The lecture is suitable for students, physicians and researchers in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Daniele Lana obtained a PhD in Pharmacology and now is Researcher at the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Florence. Dr. Lana's activity developed in the field of neuropharmacology with in vivo animal behavioral studies and biochemical and bioimaging analyses on rat and mouse brain samples in vitro and ex vivo. He studied the involvement of neurons, astrocytes and microglia and their interrelationships in the mechanisms of neurodegeneration in models of aging and brain inflammation, Alzheimer's, ischemia and hypoxia with the aim of identifying new therapeutic targets.

He will be in the Department of Anatomy, Third Faculty of Medicine Charles University in Prague until 22 November 2023, studying neurodegenerative processes with advanced techniques of immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy and digital imaging.
