Student Tomáš Pelikán is writing from Belgium: “I decided to spend my 5th year summer practical internship on Erasmus at the Antwerp University Hospital. The idea was to gain some insight into how healthcare and medical facilities look like by our western neighbors. I must admit, I have been more than ecstatic regarding the whole experience. Everyone speaks perfect English and is incredibly helpful, even the patients. I am currently working my way through two 4-week-long internships, one at the department of nephrology and one at the department of gynecology and obstetrics. Apart from the state of the art facilities, I must highlight the amazing community of international students, the exquisite hot chocolate, and the great beer… almost as good as ours, of course.”
