New book from the Radiodiagnostic Clinic team

Intended for medical students, this book provides a brief and concise overview of current imaging methods, their technical principles, basic indications, and contraindications. It acquaints students with the potentials and yields of various diagnostic methods for specific illnesses, as well as the diagnostic procedures for individual conditions. It also instructs students on the principles of radiation protection. The publication is intended exclusively for students of general medicine, not for radiology students in specialized post-graduate training.

Student Research Conference 3 FM CU 2022

The Student Research Conference of the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Traditionally, it will consist of lecture and poster sections. An independent expert commission will decide on the division of contributions into sections. The system for inserting abstracts will open on March 1, 2022 on the SRC website. Deadline for the submission of the abstract is set for April 10, 2022.

New textbook of medical Czech

Karolinum Publishing House publishes the textbook Talking Medicine 2: Case Studies in Czech by Iveta Čermáková from the Department of Languages and Tereza Bakusová from the Department of Nursing. This textbook is a sequel to Talking Medicine: Czech for Medical Students. It is intended for foreign medical students who study at Czech medical faculties and need to communicate with patients and medical staff in Czech hospital settings and work with essential medical documentation. The textbook is built around a series of case studies from various specialized fields.

Dean's call to students and staff

I turn to you with an urgent request for strict compliance with all hygiene regulations. Despite optimistic assumptions from early autumn, covid-19 is now spreading faster than a year ago, and hospitals are again in danger of being overwhelmed. In recent days, the situation is really serious, which could be told to you by doctors from many clinics of our teaching hospital (especially from the Department of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation and the Department of Internal Medicine).
