A Gift of Time: Introduction to Perinatal Palliative Care
Lecture by Amy Kuebelbeck
Amy Kuebelbeck is a freelance writer and former reporter and editor for The Associated Press and other news organizations. She is lead author of A Gift of Time: Continuing Your Pregnancy When Your Baby's Life Is Expected to Be Brief, published by Johns Hopkins University Press, and she described her experience of continuing a pregnancy with a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis in her memoir, Waiting with Gabriel: A Story of Cherishing a Baby's Brief Life, published by Loyola Press. She edits the website PerinatalHospice.org, a clearinghouse of information about perinatal hospice, which she started in 2006. Kuebelbeck has been invited to speak to numerous medical groups and others across the U.S., Canada, England, and New Zealand. She moderates a perinatal hospice email list for interested health professionals, also started in 2006, which has grown to nearly 400 members. She has been quoted by media including The New York Times and MSNBC in stories about perinatal hospice and related issues. Both of her books are used by many hospitals and clinics as a resource for patients as well as caregivers. She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota.
