Project Narrative:

Properly adjusted fronto-parietal transcranial electrical stimulation is one of the effective ways to improve the cognitive abilities of healthy people. The aim of the project is to design (based on the recommended literature), test and quantify the cognitive effects of fronto-parietal transcranial electrical stimulation by two AC-sources of different frequency (cross-frequency-coupling) with a focus on improving working memory. EEG (e.g. frequency and time characteristics) and behavioural tests (e.g. reaction time in solving cognitive tasks, etc.) will be captured and analysed. The experimental team will provide assistance with the technical side of the experiment. The outcome of this project will be the design and evaluation of a stimulation protocol (based on cross-frequency-coupling) aimed to improve working memory.

Requirements for student applicants:

Completed university education in general medicine, or, psychology or natural sciences or biological signal processing.
