Project Narrative:

Iatrogenic dopamine supersensitivity is caused by chronic antypsychotic therapy, that leads to receptor dishomeostasis within the mesolimbic system. We will apply cutting edge molecular biological methods with live imaging in neurons to investigate the dopamine receptor cycle and regulation under physiological conditions and treatment with antypsychotics. The role of SNARE proteins, clathrin and dynamin, lipid rafts and array of molecular chaperones and adaptors will be identify.

Requirements for student applicants:

MD and / or M.Sc. in Neurobiology, Neurophysiology, Molecular Biology and Neuropharmacology; 1-3 years aftre degree has been granted
