Project Narrative:

The goal of this project is to investigate the impact of retinal neural activity on blood-retinal barrier (BRB) permeability and infiltration of pathogenic CD4+ T cells in murine experimental autoimmune uveoretinitis. Retinal neural activity will be modulated by different light intensity/wavelength. Analyses will be focused on identification of retinal neural circuits and neurotransmitters responsible for induction of proinflammatory phenotype in endothelial and periendothelial cells of the BRB.

Requirements for student applicants:

Graduate of master’s degree program (natural sciences or pharmacy), general medicine or veterinary medicine.
