Project Narrative::

Dysfunction and apoptosis of pancreatic β-cells are among the key factors contributing in type 2 diabetes development. Many factors affect β-cells (e.g. increased intake of saturated fatty acids). Exact molecular mechanisms by which the harmful factors affect β-cell function and viability are not elucidated yet. The aim of the project is to contribute to elucidation and understanding of these mechanisms.
