Complex cerebrovascular center of Faculty Hospital Královské Vinohrady (FNKV) and the Third Medical faculty of Charles University (3. LF UK) has been awarded the highest international prize for quality of care for patients with stroke

The highest award "Diamond Status" under the Angels Initiative and the European Stroke Organization (ESO) has been awarded this year to the comprehensive FNKV cerebrovascular center. Dr. Peter Vaško who is the Head of Neurological ICU and Cerebrovascular Care took over the award during the 5th ESO Congress in Milan.

By winning this award, this site has ranked among the top 24 hospitals worldwide concerning the care of patients with acute stroke.

“We received this award mainly thanks to the large workload of the multidisciplinary team at FNKV which is involved in the diagnosis and treatment of acute stroke and is composed of neurologists, radiologists, (neuro) interventional physicians 24/7, cardiologists, neurosurgeons, nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists and, last but not least, devoted drivers and dispatching personnel of transport ambulances, without whose speed acute stroke patients would have little chance of recovery, ”says prof. Štětkářová.
