State of emergency extended - information for students

Dear Students!

Last night the Czech Goverment has extended the State of Emergency in the country until March 21, 2021.

Based on this, there are no changes regarding university studies – the exceptions for all medical schools stay in place, so classes at our faculty will continue in the same way as announced at the beginning of this semester.

The following regulations will be implemented in everyday acrtivities:

  1. it is prohibited to leave the district, where you are permanently living (in our case City of Prague) except for special causes (visiting a healthcare facility, assisting a family member in need, occupation outside the district),

  2. it is prohibited to leave your accomodation between 21,00 and 04,59 except for going to and from work, visiting a healthcare facility due to health emergency, volunteering in the field of healthcare or other emergency services or walking your dog in a distance not greater than 500 m from your flat,

  3. During daytime (05,00-20,59) all individuals should stay at home except for:

      a.

going to and from work (in your case attending classes at the faculty/hospital – to prove this please keep your valid ISIC with you all the time, in case of any issues during possible inspection by the Police, do not hesitate to contact the faculty via the 24/7 emergency phone number +420 724 292 312),

      b.

visiting a healthcare facility in case of emergency,

      c.

necessary shopping (food shops including supermarkets, drugstores, pharmacies, opticians, dry-cleaners, locksmiths’s will stay open),

      d.

outdoor activities ands sports (only people living in the same household can be together).

  4. Contacts with other people than those living in the same household should be limited.

  5. In public places no more than 2 people should be together (except for working or studying activities).

  6. In all buildings and public places it is required that you wear FFP2/KN95 masks or a surgical mask, outdoors this is required if there is shorter distance than 2 meters to other people. During all classes, hospital practices and during all stay in faculty buildings FFP2/KN95 masks are required all the time !!!!!!!!

  7. Ut to date information about traveling to the Czech Republic can be found here: https://www.mzv.cz/jnp/en/issues_and_press/mfa_statements/x2021_02_05_overview_new_travel_rules_valid_from_5.html

Dear Students, we understand that this situation is hard for you (as i tis for us), we hope that these restrictions together with ongoing anti COVID vaccination will improve the epidemiologic situation in the country and lead to quick return to normal life. If you would need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me by email or (in emergency cases) by the 24/7 phone number.

In case of need the University provides psychological counselling services via UK-Point Centre - https://centrumcarolina.cuni.cz/CC-32.html - alternatively we can recommend other facilities that can provide mental health care.

I wish you all good health, study success and to all of us better future weeks as Spring is approaching.

Best wishes
