Department of Oncology is part of the Centre of highly specialised oncological care for adults of the UHKV (KOC). It focuses on radiation and clinical oncology for the whole spectrum of solid tumour diseases in adult patients. It provides advanced radiation therapy (radiotherapy) on a tomotherapy and linear accelerator using conformal RT, IMRT, IGRT techniques. Brachytherapy for many diagnoses is performed with HDR afterloading. Systemic anticancer therapy including targeted and biological therapy is applied in the clinic. There is an inpatient ward for outpatients and two inpatient wards if hospitalization is required. The clinic is significantly involved in the dispensary, symptomatic and palliative care of cancer patients. It is involved in a number of clinical trials and research projects in the field of cancer therapy.
