Dear Partner University,

The two Universities in Clermont-Ferrand (France), in partnership with the FFSU (French University Sports Federation), the SUAPS (Physical and Sports Activities University Service), the student association Doct'Auvergne and local partners, have the great pleasure to invite you for the European Doctoral Olympics Sports competition.

These friendly Olympiads are open to PhD students of all Doctoral Schools in Europe. The event will take place from 22th to 24th June, 2016 in Clermont-Ferrand (France). The organizers will bear the costs of accommodation and meals. Only travel costs remain the responsibility of the participants.

Five sports activities will be open to competition:

• Green Ball,

• Run and bike,

• Badminton,

• Canoe,

• Futsal

PhD students have to register to all activities. Each team must be composed of six PhD students, of whom at least two women. There will be numerous prizes to reward the brave candidates.

Wednesday, June 22:

• 11:45 am – 13:45 pm: Welcome of participants and lunch offered at SUAPS

• 15 bis, rue Poncillon - 63000 Clermont-Ferrand - + 33 4 73 29 32 01

• 02:00 pm – 06:00 pm: Green Ball competition at stadium P. Marcombes

• 06:00 pm – 07:00 pm: Installation in the rooms at the CROUS residence

• 07:30 pm - 08:30 pm: Reception at the town hall or free guided visit of the underground cellars in the historical city

• 09:00 pm – 11:00 pm: Diner offered in the city centre

• Accommodation at CROUS included

Thursday, June 23:

• 09:00 am – 10:30 am: Futsal indoor competition

• 11:00 am – 01:00 pm: Badminton indoor competition

• 01:00 pm - 01:30 pm: Departure by bus to the lake AYDAT.

• 02:00 pm – 03:00 pm: Lunch break offered.

• 03:00 pm – 06:00 pm: Canoe + Run and Bike around the lake AYDAT.

• 08:00 pm – 09:30 pm: Awards ceremony at SUAPS.

• 09:30 pm: Gala evening and closing ceremony

• Accommodation at CROUS included

Friday, June 24:

• Departure of the participants or optional sightseeing tours by registration only.
